 D&AD STUDENT AWARDS (2005)

Back in 2004, I was given the task of designing a poster advertising campaign, aimed at children, that would emphasise the importance of insects to the survival of every species on our planet.

In collaboration with illustrator Iain Laurie, we created a response that was universially understandable to both children and adults. The food chain is symbolised by a circus balancing act to emphasise the great importance of the insects role to ours and many other species survival.

 D&AD STUDENT AWARDS (2005)

At a time when the G8 summit was being held in Gleneagles in Scotland, Greenpeace asked those attempting their D&AD brief, to come up with a way of highlighting the serious issue of global warming to the leaders of the G8. They wished that the response be universally understandable for those speaking the languages of the G8 nations.

My response highlights the general attitude of the leaders of the time, with them preferring to treat summits as a game of one-upmanship, rather than focusing on the urgency of tackling global warming.

Each G8 nation featured on their very own card, in their own language and on their own poster.
